This is my tribute piece to the late great Amy Jade Winehouse.

When I first wrote this piece, I thought to myself, the music that will go with this has to be jazzy. And then I thought, how about contrasting the sad, with something funny? So I asked my good friend and fellow Parks and Wrecks bandmate, Rina Parrilla Garcia (RPG Acoustic) if she could learn an acoustic version of I Heard Love is Blind by Amy Winehouse from her first album, Frank. Not only did she learn it, but she nailed it so much with her vocals and guitar skills, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to deliver this piece.

I wanted to do an actual video for this, and not a point and shoot type of thing, but I was just eager to put this together quickly for the 4 year anniversary of her passing. So we got together and made this happen. We filmed this at her dad’s barber shop lol… We made it work and I’m still pleased with the results.

May her memory and legacy live through her music, and I hope we did this powerhouse justice on this piece. Rest in paradise, Amy Jade.

Peace!
